I have always wanted to cycle from London to Paris in under 24 hours. I have done the challenge before over a few days and distinctly remember loving the route and the journey. It isn't a crazy distance that it is unachievable, but I decided to put a twist on it. Time trial bike and just see how fast I could go. No rules, just riding.
So Friday night after work I jumped on my bike needing to be in Newhaven for the last ferry of the day.
Nick and Francis joined and you can see what happens in the first leg in the video below.
First leg complete. After a long ferry ride, we arrived in Dieppe in the early hours of the morning. The roads on the French side of London to Paris are exceptional. Wide, straight and perfect when on a TT bike. Route below:
I was incredibly lucky to have Nick and Francis there, supporting this leg again as well. You can see what happened on the second part of our trip below.
Completing the challenge in well under 24 hours was an incredible achievement. The moving time was about 9.5 hours, of which I am happy with, but there is definitely room for improvements.
Thanks to Nick and Francis for the support for this one!
